I'm Jen Wilson, and I'm proud to announce my candidacy for Lake County Council, District 4 which covers Dyer, most of Schererville and St. John with a few precincts in Crown Point and Highland. Click below to see if you are in District 4.

I have been a resident of Indiana since I moved to Schererville in 1988. I have grown up in this community and I am committed to ensuring that our government supports the people that live here.  While we have established a strong foundation with affordable living and schools, I believe we can enhance community engagement and truly connect with our residents to ensure Lake County continues to be a place where hard working families can thrive.

 

​I am passionate about government because I believe in leadership that protects and guides us, setting thoughtful boundaries for the benefit of all families and communities. I am ready for the challenge governing brings and I want to earn your trust to allow me to do so. My motivation comes down to one simple word: people. I genuinely care about the everyday needs of our neighbors and have dedicated my life to helping others. People are my business, people are my priority!

 

-People are my business, protecting taxpayer dollars is my responsibility and serving the residents of Lake County is my commitment.

Throughout my life, I've worked in roles centered around people. I've been a special education teacher, a health and wellness professional, a small business owner, a community volunteer, a Park Board member, and a precinct committeewoman.

Those experiences taught me how to listen, solve problems, build consensus, and advocate for people who need a voice and government should do the same!
